
| Joe Vitti Retired Engineer
Joe Vitti has committed many years to civic volunteering activities and since his retirement has spent most of his spare time serving the community. He holds, or has held, numerous positions in service to the community, including the following:Valley Voters Organized Toward Empowerment (VOTE ), Valley VOTE Board Member 1998 to 2003 and Valley VOTE President 2003 to present. His Neighborhood Council Activities include Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Review Commission, Appointed Commissioner by Greig Smith in 2006 to represent the 12th Council District, Granada Hills North Neighborhood Council (GHNNC), Elected Board member -2003 to present, Appointed GHNNC representative to the L.A. Department of Water and Power and participant in the development of the precedent-setting Memorandum of Understanding- April 2005 to the present, Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition (LANCC). He also participated in it's formation and has served as appointed Delegate from the GHNNC since 2005. He was elected Vice Chair of LANCC- 2007 to present. His Chamber of Commerce Activities include Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce President in 1990 and Board member 1986-2005, Granada Hills Chamber of Commerce Board member- 2002 to present, selected as Fernando Award Nominee in 2005, 2006, and 2007, United Chambers of Commerce Board of Directors - 2006 to present.
Joe Vitti earned an MS degree from UCLA in 1961 and is a California-licensed Professional Engineer in Nuclear Engineering. He had a successful 25 year career in the Nuclear Power business as a Manager at Atomics International in Canoga Park and as a Project Engineer for Combustion Engineering in Connecticut. He also was the Owner/Director of a Valley school business until his retirement in 2000. Joe also attended Los Angeles Pierce College receiving a Certificate in Real Estate in June of 1965. He lives in Granada Hills and is very proud of his three children and six grandchildren, all of whom live in the Los Angeles area.
